Huron Capital Partners has sold Horsepower Automotive Group, an aftermarket automotive parts platform, to River Associates Investments.
Huron Capital Partners has sold Horsepower Automotive Group, an aftermarket automotive parts platform, to River Associates Investments.
Huron launched the platform in 2015 with its acquisition of Drake Automotive, a supplier of vintage Mustang parts. The firm later completed nine add-on acquisitions to expand the company's operations and product offerings.
During Huron's ownership, Horsepower Automotive Group opened a manufacturing facility in Arizona that consolidated operations and product development. The company said the investment improved manufacturing processes and supported its focus on off-roading and overlanding products.
"We are proud to have partnered with Chris York and the HPAG team to build a differentiated platform within the automotive aftermarket market," said Mike Beauregard at Huron Capital. "Chris' focus on opening a new manufacturing facility, integrating HPAG operations, and accelerating the Company's focus on new product development has positioned HPAG well for continued growth."
Chris York, chief executive officer of Horsepower Automotive Group, said the partnership with Huron helped the company grow through acquisitions and operational changes.
"We are grateful for our partnership with Huron. Their experience executing buy-and-build investments, combined with expertise in omni-channel consumer marketing and a disciplined focus on strategy and execution, enabled us to capitalize on several opportunities and build an integrated platform. We look forward to building on that momentum in our next chapter with River Associates."
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
